This half term our topic will be British Artists. We will spend each week studying one particular artist. By the end of term we would have covered 5 different artists, through this century and last with a range of types of art they create.
Our first week is looking at the world famous landscape painter William Turner.
The children were intrigued to know how much his paintings cost and were quite sure they all had one at home!
All the children created their own paint palettes, like William Turner would have worked with. They then had a go and creating their own paintings. We have some really talented artists.
The children created some wonderful symmetric art to practice painting inside lines. There were pieces worth framing!
We gave the children different types of ways to created pictures and they all loved using the cotton wool and pegs to created some very colourful pictures.
This week in science we learnt all about rockets and how they are powered. We also had another visitor to read us a story.
This week in Forest school we created dams with a selection of different tools, found worms and created some wonderful pieces of outdoor art.
The think the children spent the whole week getting covered in paint, what fun!
Finally, our new mud kitchen arrived!! I’m sure this will be the only picture of it clean!
