This term we have planned a wonderful trip to the Science Museum. It is such a wonderful place to bring alive space and the solar system which is why we chose to cover Space for two weeks.
The children made some wonderful crafts of planets in the solar system. We learnt songs to remember all the planets as well as creating our own moon crater landscape picture.
The lower preschool have been fine tuning their motor skills and showing amazing penmanship when learning the number 3.
They have also been practicing tweezing the counting bears while learning their colours.
In Forest school it is so wonderful to see friendships forming and all working together to build a camp fire!
The children love the classic children’s stories The Gingerbread Man and The Three Little Pigs. We thought this was a great opportunity to create some wonderful crafts as well as learning about the moral to each the stories.
The first week we looked at The Gingerbread man.
All the children had great fun decorating Gingerbread Men!
They also created some wonderful colouring pictures to improve their fine motor skills.
This week in the number preschool the children learnt about the letter S. They created some wonderful S for Snake letters.
The mud kitchen was in full swing this week, with a lot of mess and fun had!
We moved on to the ‘The Three Little Pigs’.
The children loved creating the 3 different types of houses and the beautiful pink pigs in cooking.
Our first trip to the park this term in the afternoon was a great success, lets hope this wonderful Autumn weather stays until Christmas!
The lower preschool were practicing their penmanship with their teachers.
It was also our first trip out to Forest School this week. The children had great fun learning how to climb trees and create some wonderful Autumn pictures. We also had our morning snack out in the woods!
We opened our doors for a new academic year and it was so nice to welcome so many new children to the nursery.
Our first couple of weeks was learning ‘All About Me’. This gave a chance for the teachers to learn about all our new children and it gave the children an opportunity to learn about the teachers and their new nursery.
We also had a redevelopment of our upper preschool room with an additional toilet put in so the first couple of days were very exciting!
The children created some wonderful self portraits of themselves.
The children practiced some fine motor skill activities as well as playing with old and new friends.
This year we have a new PE teacher called Folu. The children will have great fun learning some new football skills this term with him.
In our lower preschool the children got really creative with straws and paint.
